Several things usually happen after a high school athletic program captures a state championship. That includes an increased desire to participate. Due to this fact, the Warren Lumberjack baseball team will be holding try-outs for all new ballplayers. The two day event begins today, Wednesday, January 4th, when the interested athletes will get a chance to showcase their abilities with the bat. Thursday's portion of the try-out will include defensive work. The Lumberjack baseball team is scheduled to open up their season on March 2nd with a home tilt against the Hope Bobcats, a game that could be affected by the basketball team's advancement in postseason play. The baseball schedule includes 11 home games and 10 road contests before the 8AAA district tournament is set to begin.
