Senior Britni Funderburg and sophomore Robert Whittemore both advanced to the AAA State Championship Tennis Meet held at Allen Park in Jonesboro. Both tennis players preformed well.

Funderburg took the court against Booneville's Emily Wall in the first round. After dropping the first set 0-6, Funderburg came back to win both the second and third sets by scores of 6-4 and 6-0 and advanced to the next round. Britni's run came to an end in the second round, however, following a 6-1, 6-0 loss to state finalist Irene Polyakova from the Arkansas School for Math and Sciences.

Whittemore, on the other hand dropped a tough first match to be eliminated. Robert and Alex Barnett of Jonesboro Westside split the first two sets. In the tiebreaker, however, Barnett got the best of Whittemore and won 7-5. The sets were as follows: 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
