Warren vs. Dewitt

On Thursday November 1st the Warren Lumberjacks took on the Dewitt Dragon at James E. Hurley, Jr. Stadium. Warren received the opening kick-off and quickly drove down the field and scored on a 1 yard run by #20 Dedrick Hampton giving the Lumberjacks and early lead. The Dewitt Dragons held the ball the rest of the 1st quarter and scored on a short run at the first of the 2nd quarter. The rest of the first half was back and forth between the two teams. Dewitt ran the clock down every chance they had. The two teams went into half time tied up at six a piece.

Dewitt received the opening kick-off of the second half. Warren's defense held the Dragons on three straight plays and forced them to punt on fourth down. #6 Jarius Wright scored on Warren's pursuing drive. He caught a pass from #17 Hayden Smith and ran it 40 yards for a Lumberjack touchdown. Warren kicked off to Dewitt with the score 13-6. Warren's Antonio Harding picked up a fumble and carried it 23 yards for another Lumberjack touchdown. On Dewitt's pursuing drive, Warren caused another fumble, this time recovered by #81 Greg Childs. Childs caught a 25 yard pass a play later and walked into the end zone bringing the game to 26-6. Warren forced Dewitt to punt the ball on the next drive. Smith gave Hampton the ball who ran 24 yard and a Lumberjack commanding lead of 32-6. Warren's John Roper #72 knocked the ball loose from the Dragons on the kick off and #25 Raphel Moore recovered it for the Lumberjacks. Hampton carried the ball 21 yards a play later and gave the Lumberjacks and ultimate lead, 38-6. Dewitt slowly drove the ball down the field on their pursuing drive and scored on another short run.
