Jacks Come Short Against Billies

Thursday, December 1st, 2005-Fordyce, Arkansas

After Wednesday nights outstanding performance against the Fountain Lake Cobras the Warren Lumberjacks were looking to take care of business against the Monticello Billies Thursday night.

The Lumberjacks, once again, came out with a nice start against Monticello.  Although, the game started off slow Warren was able to take care of Monticello's mistakes and take a 14-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the momentum switched sides and became Warren's foe as the Lumberjacks saw impressive shooting come from Monticello's Bryan Sherrer.  Several key fouls against Warren gave Sherrer plenty of opportunities at the free-throw line.  At halftime Warren was down to Monticello 27-23.

The third quarter came, and once again Warren was introduced to Sherrer as he continually made free-throws.  Warren was plagued all night by fouls.  Monticello used this to their advantage and took a 39-32 lead into the fourth.

In the fourth, Warren found some offense, but could not stop Monticello's offense as they shot the ball well all night.  Monticello won the game with the final score being 59-50.  This loss put Warren at 1-2 for the season and put 'Jacks out of the Fordyce Tournament.

A.J. Avery scored 13 points, Chanc Davis scored 11, and Greg childs scored 9 for Warren.  Moorehead Jordan scored 6 points from two three pointers for Warren.  Monticello's leading scorers were Bryan Sherrer with 33 points, who was also 13 out of 14 from the line, Rudy Harrell with 9, Brenden Sherrer with 8, and Seth Oxner with 6 points.

The 'Jacks will play the Crossett Eagles on Friday, December 2nd at 8:00, following the Girls game against Crossett, at Warren. Come out and support the 'Jacks!
