Jr. Lady Jacks Place Second in District Meet
Dumas, Arkansas
The Jr. Girls track and field team was able to come away with a second place finish thanks mainly to Shanique Rhodes. She finished with 16 and 3/4 points to lead the Jr. Lady Jacks. Rhodes placed second in the triple jump, fourth in the discuss, sixth in the shot put, sixth in the long jump, and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. She also ran on the sixth place 400-meter relay team which also included LaCorsha Furlough, Tawanta Marshall, and Charnekwa Patton.
Shakaila Edwards and Christine Jackson both placed in the discuss and shot put. Edwards won the discuss and placed fourth in the shot put, while Jackson won the shot put and placed fifth in the discuss.
The 3200-meter relay team finished sixth and it consisted of Ana Escamilla, Kawanta Marshall, Tawanta Marshall, and Kiara Ross. Escamilla also placed second in the 1600-meter run and sixth in the 800 meters. Furlough also placed sixth in the 200 and 400 meters and seventh in the high jump. Tawanta Marshall also finished fifth in the 200 and 400 meters. Her twin sister Kawanta had eighth place finishes in both the 800 and 1600 meters. Patton also finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles.
Jr. Lady Jacks Compete in Lumberjack Relays

The Jr. Lady Jack track and field team competed in their home meet Tuesday. Ana Excamilla, Kawanta Marshall, Tawanta Marshall, and Kiara Ross made up the first place 3200-meter relay team. In the shot Christine Jackson finished second, Shakaila Edwards fourth, and Kawanta Marshall eighth. Shanique Rhodes finished fourth in the long jump. The 400-meter relay team of Shanique Rhodes, Christine Jackson, Tawanta Marshall, and Kawanta Marshall placed fourth. Tawanta Marshall also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash.

Lady Jacks Place Second in Lumberjack Relays

Before Thursday, Warren had not held a track meet in Warren since 2000. Since then Warren has been fortunate to get a brand new track, enabling the Lady Jacks to host the meet held Thursday. The Lady Jacks are building on a successful track season and were looking to impress Thursday afternoon.
The Senior Girls team is indeed small, but they make up for the lack of depth with explosive talent. The small Lady Jack team which includes Senior Jessica Jones, Sophomore LaToya Marshall, and Sophomore Adair Claycomb racked up a total of 71 points to come in second in the relays. Senior Jessica Jones claimed the meets highest point trophy with her outstanding 31 points. Jones placed first in the 100, 200, and 400 meter relays and sixth in the long jump competition. LaToya Marshall won the long jump and placed second in the 100 and 200 meter relays. Adair Claycomb placed second in the 100 meter hurdles and third in the 300 meter hurdles.
Lady Jacks Compete in Oil Belt Relays El Dorado, April 7, 2006 The senior girls' track and field team competed in the weather shortened Oil Belt Relays last Thursday. Sophomore Latoya Marshall made the most of the time she had by placing second in the high jump and third in the 100-meter dash. Senior Jessica Jones also had a good showing by placing second in the 400 meters and fourth in the 100-meter dash. Tania Angeles finished fifth in the 3200-meter run while Adair Claycomb finished sixth. The Lady Jack track and field team will compete in the Lumberjack Relays which will be held here on Thursday, April 7th, 2006. Come out and support Lady Jack track. Indoor State Meet Results Fayetteville, February 24, 2006 The Senior Girls track and field team didn't fair that well in the Indoor State Meet at the Tyson Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Senior Jessica Jones did really well with 23 points including first place finishes in the 400 and 200. She also finished sixth in the 55. Sophomore LaToya Marshall also had a good showing. She finished third in the 200 and the high jump. She also finished fifth in the 55. The Lady Jack Track & Field team will showcase their talent next in Dumas on April 6, 2006.
