Lady Jacks Shoot Out of Gate With Intra-Squad Scrimmage

And their off!  The 2005 Warren Lady Jacks basketball team shot out of the gate on Tuesday, November 8th in front of a home crowd with their annual intra-squad scrimmage.

The team is focused and looking to bring an 8AAA conference championship and the all-mind-consuming first state title home to Warren.

All eyes look toward coach Sandra Hatley to guide her team to bring in the prize.  Coach Hatley commented that she was both surprised and impressed with her team's preseason performance.  Hatley explained, however, that they have a lot of work to do.  The team hopes to make up for what they are lacking in size by getting the ball up and down the court.

Offensively, senior Frederika Marshall posted 21 points while sophomore Kaneesha Clary finished with 19 points.  Quinella Smith scored a total of 15 points.  Adriana Furlough also finished in double figures with 11 points.  Sophomore Kali Wagnon also exhibited new young talent.  The first game for the Lady Jacks is scheduled for November 29th when they will get an opportunity to showcase their talents in the Fordyce tournament.

In the Jr. Lady Jack scrimmage, Shanique Rhodes lead all players with 16 points. Freshman Shakaila Edwards dropped 11 while Santina Young scored 5 of her own. Twin sisters Kawanta and Tawanta Marshall scored 4 points each, as did Christine Jackson and Hannah Norton.
