Lady Jack's Halftime Lead Doesn't Hold Up February 9, 2005 - Warren, Arkansas The Warren Lady Jack basketball team has gone through its share of hardships this year. Hoping to close the regular season with their first win of the season, the Lady Jacks took on the Hamburg Lions Thursday night in Warren.
The first quarter started off slow and sluggish for both teams. The Lady Lions ran to an 11-0 lead, but Warren battled back and closed the gap to 14-7. The 7-3 Lady Jack run saw momentum begin to change.
The second quarter saw the Lady Jacks put it all together. Down early in the second, Seniors Frederika Marshall and Jessica Jones displayed a little senior leadership. They both picked up the pace and closed the scoring gap. The up-tempo pace saw Warren go into halftime with a 18-16 lead, much to the approval of the fans.
The Lady Lion's depth became a factor in the second half. Hamburg came out firing in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Jacks 22-11 in the period. The scoring burst virtually put it away for the Lady Lions as the final buzzer sounded with Hamburg on top 51-39.
The stats tallied up as follows. Senior Jessika Jones scored 14 points, while Federika Marshall put seven on the board. Kali Wagnon had one steal and four points. Heather Key finished the night with three points.
The senior girls are scheduled to play in the district tournament Saturday February 11, 2006. Time to be announced at a later time.

Lady Jacks Lose First Round Game to End Season
Saturday, February 11, 2006
The Warren Lady Jacks came into Hamburg, Arkansas to play the Hamburg Lions in the 8AAA District Tournament. The previous game for the Lady Jacks was also against the Lady Lions of Hamburg, in which Warren had its closest game of the year, leading Hamburg at halftime. Warren came into the tournament looking for an upset and their first win of the season. Hamburg came in looking to cruise their way into the second round.
Senior leadership showed up for the Lady Jacks Saturday night as Jessica Jones and Frederika Marshall scored the first four baskets of the game for Warren. Then the Hamburg defense stepped up and slowed Warren's attack leaving the Lady Jacks with only 10 points at the end of the first. Warren was down 21-10 after one.
The second quarter showed signs of the game ending with a rather lop-sided score. Warren did find something offensively, but so did Hamburg. Senior Jessica Jones again took control of the team in the second, but was to no avail. Hamburg was knocked down two three-pointers to help their lead. Hamburg lead 41-24 at the half.
As the time on the game clock was ticking away in the thirds quarter, the Lady Jacks knew their time was quickly ticking away to get a win on the season. Warren started to try and revive their offense and create points quickly, but it only led to turnover after turnover. Hamburg quickly capitalize and increased their lead over Warren. Several three-pointers were again knocked down in the third by Hamburg and they were up 55-34 going into the fourth.
The fourth quarter ended just about as quickly as it started. Hamburg increased their lead enough to enforce the mercy rule on the Lady Jacks. With time running out on their season, the Lady Jacks hopes were dampened by Hamburg's offense. Hamburg defeated the Lady Jacks 70-39.
