Lumberjacks Swinging Away

Last night the Warren Lumberjack baseball team opened their season in the annual Lumberjack Alumni game. The Jacks defeated the alumni 5-4 in seven innings.

 

Pitchers for the Jacks included Bryan Church, Nick Holloway, John Roper, Daniel Robinson, and Matt Pace. Pitchers for the Alumni included Josh Bryant, Josh McClain, Chad Young, and Jared Davis.

 

The Jacks had a total of five hits on the night. The Alumni finished with four.

 

Alumni's Josh McClain racked up seven strikeouts in two innings. Josh Bryant had three K's in two innings. Bryan church pitched two innings and gathered three strikeouts. Nick Holloway stayed for one inning. John Roper pitched one inning and garnered two strikeouts. Daniel Robinson also pitched one inning. Matt Pace pitched two for the Lumberjacks and picked up three K's.

 

Wesley Cogdill, John Roper, and Bryan Church all had one hit apiece. Ryan May had two.

 

 The game against Hope Thursday has been canceled. The basketball team lost to Heber Springs Wednesday. Because of this loss the Lumberjacks baseball team will play White Hall at 4:00 p.m. in White Hall Friday, March 3, 2006.
