Lumberjacks Stomp Redbugs

Tuesday, December 6th, 2005-Fordyce, Arkansas

The 'Jacks came out Tuesday night hoping to not go down 0-1 in conference play.  After losing to Dollarway, the 'Jacks did not need to lose another game and they insured a win last night early on.

In the first quarter, the redbugs played Warren close and both teams played great defense.  Greg Childs for Warren led Warren's offense in the first with 4 points and Fordyce had four players with 2 points at the end of the first with Warren leading 11-9.

In the second quarter, the game was still close as Warren outscored Fordyce 13-12 in the second.  Greg Childs still lead the way for the 'Jacks with 8 points.  C.J. Swift from Fordyce was their only player to score in the second as he also had 8 points going into half-time.  The score was 24-21 at half-time.

During the third, Fordyce was still giving the 'Jacks a hard time.  Warren began to give the 'Jacks opportunities at the free-throw line and Fordyce took advantage of it.  As the buzzer sounded for the end of the third the score was 32-30 in favor of Warren.

In the fourth quarter, the 'Jacks exploded out of nowhere as Warren made 12 points off of shots and 9 points of free-throws.  Fordyce continually fouled Warren and they paid the price.  The final score was in favor of Warren 53-37.  Sophomore Greg Childs led the way for Warren with 20 points while A.J. Avery scored 14, Tee Lexing had 5, Chanc Davis and Jarren Jefferson both scored 4 points, and Gerald Thompson, Dusty Hardin, and Jarius Wright all scored 2.  Fordyce's leading scorer was C.J. Swift with 16 points, while Allen Brian scored 10.

This was a great victory for the 'Jacks and brought their season record to 2-3.  The Warren Lumberjacks travel to McGehee to play the Owls on Thursday, December 8th, 2005 in conference play at 8:00.
