Warren Girls Battle Owls

Thursday, December 8th, 2005 - McGehee, Arkansas

The Lady Lumberjacks took the trip to McGehee on Thursday night for their conference contest with the Owls. The girls competed well before falling dropping their 5th contest of the year.

Frederika Marshall knocked down two first quarter free throws and Kali Wagnon scored two points of her own in the first frame, leaving the Lady Jacks down 11-4 after the first quarter.

Warren continued to fight and went into the locker room down by 7, 18-11. Marshall continued her hot play, dropping 6 in the quarter. Kali Wagnon hit one free throw in the frame.

Things went downhill after halftime for the Lady Jacks. Marshall scored all of Warren's points in the third as she scored 5 points, including draining a three pointer. However, McGehee scored 15 and took a 31-16 lead into

the fourth quarter.

The Lady Jacks played well in the final period, but couldn't overcome the Lady Owl lead. Behind 3 points off of Frederika Marshall's hot hand the Lady Jacks scored 9 points. McGehee's K. Nise matched her by dropping 6 in the fourth, helping the Owl girls to 11 points in the fourth.

The final score of the contest read 44-25. The Lady Jacks, behind senior leader Frederika Marshall's 16 points, fought hard in the 19 point loss. Kali Wagnon scored 5 points, Kaneesha Clary dropped 2, and both Jessica Jones and LaKrystal Thomas scored a point a piece. For McGehee, Nise dropped 14 with L. Dawson scoring 11 in their victory.
